This includes anyone doing youth and urban outings as well as hikes, canoe trips, bike trips, etc. Each participant in the training will qualify as a certified Outings Leader for the Sierra Club, meaning that they can lead outings that are covered by SC insurance and that can be advertised with other Chapters. The training will include basic First Aid for outings. Our national Sierra Club trainer is Rocky Milburn from the Florida Chapter.
The training is free of charge but persons completing the training will be asked to follow up by conducting at least one or several outings for Sierra Club Delta Chapter. The Training will be held in a meeting room at the Jones Creek Library in Baton Rouge, 6222 Jones Creek Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70817 - this is south of I-12 off O'Neal or Millerville Road exits, and east of I-10 off Siegen Lane exit.
